ATX Sports is a blog about high school, college and professional sports in Austin and Central Texas. ATX Sports was started in June 2009 by Andrew A. McNeill.

Andrew is the editor and writer for ATX Sports. He currently lives in Austin, Texas, obviously. He received his B.A. in Mass Communication – Print Journalism from Texas State University in August 2008.

Andrew played two years of college basketball (well, played one and was injured the other) at Temple Junior College in Temple, Texas, before deciding to hang ‘em up and focus on school (and partying). At Texas State, Andrew spent time working on the sports staffs of both the campus radio station (KTSW 89.9 FM) and the campus newspaper (The University Star).

Andrew is a fan of the San Antonio Spurs, Houston Astros, Houston Texans, and Tottenham Hotspur of the English Premier League. He also thinks Texas State University’s athletic department is on the right track and that the “Memorial Day Miracle” was arguably the most underrated playoff moment of all-time (and not just because he was at that game).
